Our club sponsors and participates in a number of community service and youth projects each year. The following is a list and brief description of our major events:

Girl's Basketball - conducted for 6 weeks at Orchard Elementary, Jackson Middle School, and Jackson Junior High School |

Essay Contest - Optimist International Program for Senior High Youth
Oractorical Contest - Optimist International Program for Youth |
| March |
Youth in Government Day - High school students hold an election to determine who will hold various City and County offices for a day. These "student elected officials" spend an entire day learning about the responsibilities of their office and fulfilling the duties required. |
| April |
Annual Park Day - join other organizations and city officials in cleaning, planting, and "sprucing up" the City Park. (Safety City, USA in particular) Last Saturday in April. |

May |
"Respect for Law" - Optimist International Program that we promote in our area through the cooperation of the Jackson Police Dept. and the Cape County Sheriff's Dept.
" Safety City, USA" - Safety classes for children ages K-3. We teach traffic, bicycle, & fire safety to area kids each Saturday and provide them with FREE bike helmets and lots of safety information. |
