Miss Jackson Outstanding Teen Pageant

 

The Jacksonian Charter Chapter of ABWA is proud to sponsor the Miss Jackson Outstanding Teen Pageant to be held in conjunction with the Miss Jackson Pageant on November 17, 2007.  The pageant will be held at 7:30 PM at the Jackson High School Auditorium, Jackson, MO.  This preliminary is open to all young women ages 13-16 and can not be a graduating 2008 senior in high school.  Entrants must be a resident of the state of Missouri for at least 6 months.  According to guidelines from The Miss Missouri Outstanding Teen Program the following forms, information and copies need to be submitted for entry to the local preliminary competition.  

 

The forms listed below are required for entry into Miss Jackson Outstanding Teen Pageant.

 

Contestant required materials -  there is a total of 8 forms or items you must submit

 

The following forms (3 total) are available on the Miss Missouri Website through the Miss Missouri Outstanding Teen link, then click on Pageant Information.

 

            1.         Official Rules and Regualtions for the 2008 Pageant Contestant – sign and date

            2.         Miss Missouri Outstanding Teen Application & Platform Inforamtion

            3.         Miss Missouri Outstanding Teen Contestant Local Contract  - print and fill

 

Other forms to submit:

            4.         Photocopy of birth certificate to verify age

            5.         Photocopy of school transcript

            6.         1 photograph - used for publicity and program (any size, black & white or color,

photos will be returned to you)

            7.         Miss Jackson Outstanding Teen Talent Request Form

            8.         Entry fee:  $75.00 – please make your check out to “Miss Jackson Pageants”

 

These above items must be received by Saturday, November 3, 2007  to be included in publicity and the pageant program.  The absolute final deadline to enter is Saturday, November 10, 2007!  Talent duplication will be determined by postmark.   Another letter and detailed schedule of events will follow upon receipt of your entry forms.  We must have all forms by the November 10, 2007 deadline, please send your entries to:

November 3, 2007 - Deadline to enter pageant and be included in pageant publicity

About the competition:

 

Interview – 35%

            The interviews will be 6 minutes.  You will stand behind a podium; there will be no opening or closing statement.  The interview will be before a panel of judges and you will be asked a wide range of questions.  Wardrobe should be appropriate for a business interview and represent your personality and age.

 

Lifestyle and Fitness in Sportswear – 10%

            The phase of competition is to determine your level of fitness and you should wear something of your choosing that represent something you do to stay fit. 

 

Talent – 35%

            Talent can be no longer than 2 minutes and we can only accommodate using a CD for the background music.

 

Evening Gown – 15%

            Contestant should select an evening gown to wear that makes her look special and shows her personality.

 

On-Stage question – 5%

            This phase of competition immediately after Evening Gown Competition.

 

 

Other Information:

 

The Application/ Fact Sheet and Platform Issues will be copied and sent to the judges.  Please type or print carefully.   The Talent Forms are for our use only.  This form will not be given to the judges; it is for production purposes only.

 

 

Rehearsal will be at 9:00 AM, Saturday, November 17.  We have limited time for rehearsal and to complete everything required.  Therefore it is necessary that you be prompt allowing rehearsal to run on schedule.  We will draw numbers to determine the lineup.  Our rehearsal is "closed".  Only contestants, the production staff and the participants in the entertainment will be allowed in the auditorium during rehearsal.  Please plan your transportation accordingly, general rehearsal should be over about 11am, we will do talent rehearsal last, you may leave when you have completed your talent rehearsal.

 

The opening production number will feature the "Jackson Honors Children’s Choir”.  During the opening number you will introduce yourself, wear dark jeans & a bright colored top.

 

Opening number outfit suggestions:

 

Dark long jeans – plain or with embellishment.  Tank top, turtleneck, t-shirt, any sort of bright colored top.  You may wear heels, sandals, your choice on shoes

 

The opening number will be fun and up-tempo, let yourself have a good time!

 

  


Duties of Miss Jackson Outstanding Teen:

 

1.         Represent Jackson at the Miss Missouri Outstanding Teen Pageant in June of 2008.

 

2.         Attend civic and cultural events in and around Jackson during 2007-2008.

 

3.         Represent the ABWA chapter during Jackson's annual Christmas Parade the first

Saturday of December.

 

4.         Attend Miss Missouri Outstanding Teen Orientation, in the Spring of 2008.
